The Greater Atlanta Chapter of ASIS is one of the largest and most active chapters in the country, with over 700 members who represent a wide range of industries and sectors.  The chapter has received several distinctive awards from ASIS International for our spirited and dynamic chapter and the myriad activities and programs we offer our local members.  In 2008, our chapter proudly hosted “the world” when ASIS International’s 54th Annual Seminar and Exhibits were held in Atlanta. The chapter sponsors a variety of activities and events for chapter membership, guests, law enforcement, businesses and the community including:
  • Monthly chapter breakfast meetings that include a guest speaker on a topic related to security, risk management, loss prevention, law enforcement or homeland defense.
  • Monthly newsletter, “The Informant” that is used to keep members aware of the latest news and information relating to the chapter and security issues that have an impact on the State of Georgia.
  • Annual security technical seminar that displays the latest and most innovative Access Control, Alarm, Closed Circuit TV systems, etc.
  • Law Enforcement Appreciation Day – held each May to recognize the sacrifice and heroism that is displayed day in and day out by Georgia’s law enforcement community.  More than 400 persons attend this event.
  • Security Officer of the Year Luncheon – to celebrate the accomplishments of private security officers in protecting persons and property.
  • Annual Golf Outing to raise money for the chapter and bring security and business leaders together in a relaxed environment.
This year, we are sponsoring several innovative programs including an IT security program designed specifically for the physical security manager, a federal law enforcement briefing that is designed to bring together leading representatives from federal law enforcement agencies, private security, business and the educational community and a one day physical security conference in the fall.See what ASIS International and the Greater Atlanta Chapter is all about by coming to one of our chapter meetings held most months on the third Wednesday at 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM or contact our chapter chairman, John Garrigan, at jgarrigan@securamericallc.com.
